ANCARES presents a new infographic offering a visual overview of the project’s key elements

The ANCARES Supra-regional Operational Group makes available to the public a new informative infographic that visually and concisely presents the main objectives, lines of work, expected results and benefits of the project.

The material provides an at-a-glance overview of the challenge ANCARES addresses: valorising the role of soil in dairy farming and advancing towards more sustainable, efficient and territory-connected farms. To this end, the project works with tools such as digital mapping, soil analysis, remote sensors and predictive algorithms, aimed at improving the knowledge and management of carbon in agroecosystems.

The infographic also explains the different phases of the working process, from the characterisation of the territory and the physical, chemical and biological analysis of the soil to the generation of models, digital maps and tools that facilitate decision-making on farms. It also shows the project's areas of activity, located in Galicia and Asturias.

The document also summarises the main expected results and the environmental, economic, social and sectoral benefits associated with ANCARES, including improved soil health, increased carbon sequestration, more efficient resource management, the digitalisation of the dairy sector and the generation of reference data for both territories.

With this new informative piece, ANCARES seeks to facilitate knowledge of the project and bring its objectives and methodology closer to both sector professionals and entities, administrations and members of the public interested in sustainability and innovation applied to livestock farming.

The infographic is now available for consultation through the project's channels.

The consortium is made up of the Galician Association of Agri-food Cooperatives (Agaca), Capsa Food, Asturian Dairy Central, the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), the University of Oviedo (UniOvi), Cetemas and Medrar Innovation Office.
